Domenico accende la lampada e si siede. Beve il suo caffè. Finalmente ha un’idea.
Dominic turns on the lamp and sits down. He drinks his coffee. Finally, he has an idea.
Inizia a digitare sul suo computer portatile. Sta scrivendo una sceneggiatura per un film.
He starts typing on his laptop. He is writing a script for a film.
“Tutto è silenzioso”, scrive. “La guardia di sicurezza sta dormendo. Le lettere segrete sono sulla scrivania. La spia si avvicina. Silenziosamente, lei —”
“Everything is silent,” he writes. “The security guard is sleeping. The secret letters are on the desk. The spy moves closer. Quietly, she —”
Boom! Domenico fa un salto. Il caffè si rovescia sul portatile. Il portatile smette di funzionare. Lo schermo dice: “Errore!”
Bang! Dominic jumps. The coffee spills on the laptop. The laptop stops working. The screen says: “Error!”
Ci sono luci verdi e gialle fuori dalla finestra. Delle persone stanno applaudendo. La vicina di Domenico sta facendo una festa. È una famosa regista. Boom! Un altro fuoco d’artificio esplode nel giardino della regista.
There are green and yellow lights outside the window. People are clapping. Dominic’s neighbour is having a party. She is a famous film director. Bang! Another firework explodes in the director’s garden.
Nel cestino, accanto alla scrivania di Domenico, c’è una lettera. Dice: “Per favore, vieni alla mia festa. Stiamo festeggiando il mio nuovo film ‘Mi Scusi, Signor Spia’. Anche la tua sceneggiatura parla di una spia, vero? Ti prego, raccontamela!”
In the bin, beside Dominic’s desk, there is a letter. It says: “Please come to my party. We’re celebrating my new film, ‘Sorry, Mr Spy’. Your script is about a spy too, isn’t it? Please tell me about it!”
Domenico chiude le tende. Pulisce il portatile. Lo spegne e poi lo riaccende. Ora funziona bene.
Dominic closes the curtains. He cleans the laptop. He turns it off, then he turns it on again. It’s working.
Inizia una nuova sceneggiatura.
He starts a new script.
“La regista sta facendo una festa”, scrive. “Il suo nuovo film ‘Le Scuse’ è molto popolare. Nel bel mezzo della festa, arriva il suo vicino.
“The film director is having a party,” he writes. “Her new film, ‘The Apology’, is very popular. In the middle of the party, her neighbour arrives.
“È arrabbiato. ‘I tuoi film sono spazzatura’, dice. ‘Popolari, ma spazzatura. Sto scrivendo una sceneggiatura brillante. Ma non riesco a finirla perché fai troppo rumore!’
“He’s angry. ‘Your films are rubbish,’ he says. ‘Popular, but rubbish. I’m writing a script that is brilliant. But I can’t finish it, because you’re making so much noise!’
“Il giorno dopo, la regista va a scusarsi. Vuole leggere la sua sceneggiatura. Ma lui chiude la porta. Alla fine, la regista di ‘Le Scuse’ si sente dispiaciuta. Fine.”
“The next day, the director comes to apologise. She wants to read his script. But he closes the door. Finally, the director of ‘The Apology’ feels sorry. The End.”
Domenico sorride. Poi clicca su Elimina.
Dominic smiles. Then he clicks Delete.
Il giorno dopo, qualcuno bussa alla porta di Domenico. È la regista.
The next day, someone knocks on Dominic’s door. It’s the director.
“La tua nuova sceneggiatura è fantastica!” dice.
“Your new script is fantastic!” she says.
“Cosa?”
“What?”
“La regista che si sente dispiaciuta! La adoro.”
“The director who feels sorry! I love it.”
Domenico corre verso il suo portatile. La sceneggiatura è ancora lì. Il portatile sta inviando la sceneggiatura a tutti i suoi contatti. Lo schermo dice ancora: “Errore!”
Dominic runs to his laptop. His script is still there. The laptop is emailing the script to everyone in his contacts. The screen still says: “Error!”
“Ma io —”
“But I —”
“Che idea brillante, Domenico, girare il film qui, nel mio giardino! Sono tutti pronti: iniziamo oggi. Lo so, lavoriamo troppo… ma facciamo anche tante feste! Domenico? Stai bene?”
“What a brilliant idea, Dominic, to make the film here, in my garden! Everyone’s ready – we’re starting today. I know, we work too hard – but we have a lot of parties too! Dominic? Are you alright?”
