Domingos acende o abajur e se senta. Ele bebe seu café. Finalmente, tem uma ideia.
Dominic turns on the lamp and sits down. He drinks his coffee. Finally, he has an idea.
Ele começa a digitar em seu notebook. Ele está escrevendo um roteiro para um filme.
He starts typing on his laptop. He is writing a script for a film.
“Tudo está silencioso”, ele escreve. “O segurança está dormindo. As cartas secretas estão sobre a mesa. A espiã se aproxima. Quietamente, ela —”
“Everything is silent,” he writes. “The security guard is sleeping. The secret letters are on the desk. The spy moves closer. Quietly, she —”
Bang! Domingos se assusta. O café derrama no notebook. O notebook para de funcionar. A tela diz: “Erro!”
Bang! Dominic jumps. The coffee spills on the laptop. The laptop stops working. The screen says: “Error!”
Há luzes verdes e amarelas do lado de fora da janela. Pessoas estão aplaudindo. A vizinha de Domingos está dando uma festa. Ela é uma diretora de cinema famosa. Bang! Outro fogo de artifício explode no jardim da diretora.
There are green and yellow lights outside the window. People are clapping. Dominic’s neighbour is having a party. She is a famous film director. Bang! Another firework explodes in the director’s garden.
Na lixeira, ao lado da mesa de Domingos, há uma carta. Ela diz: “Por favor, venha à minha festa. Estamos comemorando meu novo filme, ‘Desculpe, Sr. Espião’. Seu roteiro também é sobre um espião, não é? Por favor, me conte sobre ele!”
In the bin, beside Dominic’s desk, there is a letter. It says: “Please come to my party. We’re celebrating my new film, ‘Sorry, Mr Spy’. Your script is about a spy too, isn’t it? Please tell me about it!”
Domingos fecha as cortinas. Ele limpa o notebook. Ele o desliga, depois liga de novo. Está funcionando.
Dominic closes the curtains. He cleans the laptop. He turns it off, then he turns it on again. It’s working.
Ele começa um novo roteiro.
He starts a new script.
“A diretora de cinema está dando uma festa”, ele escreve. “Seu novo filme, ‘O Pedido de Desculpas’, é muito popular. No meio da festa, o vizinho dela chega.
“The film director is having a party,” he writes. “Her new film, ‘The Apology’, is very popular. In the middle of the party, her neighbour arrives.
“Ele está irritado. ‘Seus filmes são uma porcaria’, ele diz. ‘Populares, mas porcaria. Eu estou escrevendo um roteiro que é brilhante. Mas não consigo terminá-lo, porque você está fazendo muito barulho!’
“He’s angry. ‘Your films are rubbish,’ he says. ‘Popular, but rubbish. I’m writing a script that is brilliant. But I can’t finish it, because you’re making so much noise!’
“No dia seguinte, a diretora vem se desculpar. Ela quer ler o roteiro dele. Mas ele fecha a porta. Finalmente, a diretora de ‘O Pedido de Desculpas’ sente remorso. Fim.”
“The next day, the director comes to apologise. She wants to read his script. But he closes the door. Finally, the director of ‘The Apology’ feels sorry. The End.”
Domingos sorri. Depois ele clica em Excluir.
Dominic smiles. Then he clicks Delete.
No dia seguinte, alguém bate na porta de Domingos. É a diretora.
The next day, someone knocks on Dominic’s door. It’s the director.
“Seu novo roteiro é fantástico!” ela diz.
“Your new script is fantastic!” she says.
“O quê?”
“What?”
“A diretora que sente remorso! Eu adorei.”
“The director who feels sorry! I love it.”
Domingos corre até o notebook. Seu roteiro ainda está lá. O notebook está enviando o roteiro por e-mail para todos os seus contatos. A tela ainda diz: “Erro!”
Dominic runs to his laptop. His script is still there. The laptop is emailing the script to everyone in his contacts. The screen still says: “Error!”
“Mas eu —”
“But I —”
“Que ideia brilhante, Domingos, fazer o filme aqui, no meu jardim! Todos estão prontos – vamos começar hoje. Eu sei, trabalhamos demais – mas também fazemos muitas festas! Domingos? Você está bem?”
“What a brilliant idea, Dominic, to make the film here, in my garden! Everyone’s ready – we’re starting today. I know, we work too hard – but we have a lot of parties too! Dominic? Are you alright?”
